The American Cryonics Society (ACS) was founded as the Bay Area Cryonics Society (BACS) in 1969.[1] BACS was renamed the American Cryonics Society in 1985.[2] Trans Time was the perfusion provider for ACS. ACS claims to be the oldest cryonics organization still in existence,[3] however the Immortalist Society (founded in 1966 or 1967 as the Cryonics Society of Michigan) is older.[2][4]
ACS published the American Cryonics Society Journal.
