Benjamin P. "Ben" Best (born c. 1946)[1] is a former president of the Cryonics Institute, from September 2003 to September 2012.[2] In 1996, he became the vice president of the CryoCare Foundation (in addition to his duties as secretary),[3] and in 1999, he became the CryoCare president.[2] From 1991 to 1999, Best was the president of the Cryonics Society of Canada (CSC) and editor of CSC's newsletter, Canadian Cryonics News.[4][5]
Best has a pharmacy degree (BSc Pharm) from the University of British Columbia.[6] He has a BSc degree in physics and computing science as well as a BBA degree in accounting and finance, both from Simon Fraser University.[6] He received a Professional Registered Parliamentarian certification from the National Association of Parliamentarians.[6]
Best has received Instructor certification from the Canadian Red Cross as well as from the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.[6] He is a Lifetime Member of American Mensa.[6] Best taught computer language courses at colleges and universities in Canada, and was a Senior Programmer Analyst for Scotiabank in Toronto.[6]
